Ride Garage helps riders track motorcycle builds, trips, places, maintenance and fuel, and offers an optional community.

Information processed

Garage entries, saved locations, notes and photos are stored on your device in browser/app storage unless you choose to share a community post. You can export your local records using Backup & restore.

If you create a community account, we process your email address, authentication information, rider username, optional bike description, posts, comments, likes, reports, blocks and uploaded images. We also process technical information required to operate and secure the service.

Optional beta tester program

If you choose to join the beta tester program while signed in to Social, we record your account ID, enrollment date, last check-in time and a count of check-ins when you visit the Social tab. Check-ins are limited to once every 30 minutes. We use this information only to understand beta participation and which improvements to prioritize. Visitors who do not enroll are not included in these statistics. Your local garage, ride routes, fuel records and private photos are not uploaded by this feature. You can leave the beta program from the Social tab without deleting your community account. Deleting your community account also deletes the associated beta enrollment record.

Optional iPhone ride recording

The native iPhone app requests precise location when you tap Start ride. During an active ride it records timestamped GPS coordinates, horizontal accuracy and speed on this device, including while the screen is locked. iOS displays a background location indicator. Pause and Stop turn location updates off. Launching the app or recovering an interrupted ride does not start tracking; tap Resume to continue. A recovered ride may contain gaps after force quit, a restart, loss of GPS or a system interruption.

The native recorder keeps a local journal throughout recording and retains it until the completed ride is saved to your garage. Completed routes are included in your normal local backups and in a private Supabase snapshot only if you choose Save a cloud copy. They are not automatically posted to the community. The website/PWA and native app use separate device storage; use backup/restore or an explicit cloud merge to transfer records. Removing the native app deletes its local journal and garage; export important rides first.

Interactive ride maps

Interactive maps are optional. The app uses Leaflet map software and OpenStreetMap map tiles when you tap a map button. Tile requests are sent to map providers for the part of the map you choose to view, and can reveal an approximate map area and network information such as your IP address. Your complete saved GPS routes and private garage records are not uploaded to a mapping service for display. GPS collection during a recorded ride still requires your device's location permission. Route previews remain available without loading online map tiles.

Optional Cloud Garage Sync beta

Cloud Garage Sync is optional and manual. If you choose “Save a cloud copy” while signed in, a private snapshot of your garage is uploaded to Supabase. A snapshot can include motorcycle build notes and photos, service and fuel history, odometer readings, saved places and GPS ride routes. These records are not uploaded simply by visiting Ride Garage or joining the beta program.

Only the account that uploaded a snapshot can read it through Ride Garage. Snapshots are kept so you can recover older copies. Merging a cloud copy into another device requires an explicit action and does not delete local entries. Individual cloud-copy deletion is not currently offered in the app; deleting the associated account removes its cloud copies, subject to service-level backup retention. Cloud snapshots are limited to approximately 8 MB each, and your local garage stays on your device.

How information is used

We use account data to authenticate riders, display community content, enforce community rules, investigate reports and provide app functionality. Posts and profile usernames may be visible to other users. Avoid posting sensitive personal information.

Service providers

Community authentication, database and image storage are provided using Supabase. The website is hosted through GitHub Pages. These services may process information needed to provide their services.

Data sharing and retention

We do not offer riders' personal data for sale. Community content is shared with other riders as part of the features you choose to use. Data can remain while your account is active; deletion requests are reviewed and processed, subject to legitimate security or legal retention needs. No fixed retention schedule is currently promised.

Your choices

You can remove local records in the app or use backup/restore to manage your copy. You can delete your own community posts, block others and request deletion of your community account and associated data by contacting us from the email on your account at ridegarageapp@gmail.com. We may verify ownership before processing a request. Uninstalling the app does not by itself delete a community account.

Security and updates

We use authentication and access controls for the community, but no online system can guarantee absolute security. We may update this notice as features change.
